  Just to let you know the old white cliff hotel has been sold, I know who has got it,and it will open again as a hotel,I did know some two weeks ago.

  Vic yes you are talking there about The Churchill Hotel I guess, formerly White Cliffs, the rumour mill has whispered to me that the Ramada have taken it over.
  If and when thats finally confirmed it will be very good news, we need it open again, as things are fairly dead that end of town without it. Lets hope they dont price themselves out of the market like The CHurchill did, everything was too expensive particularly the drinks.

  While ambling by this morning a group of heavily and sober suited business men were entering The Churchill, it looked like the bods from The Ramada. Things are moving forward.

  We were told Tuesday at the Chamber Board that it looked as if this might happen. Good news indeed. I do hear, however that DHB switched off the heating, as as a result there was a massive water leak that has caused a lot of damage to a chunk of the hotel. It will need a lot of work to bring it up to standard before it can open.

  The fire service will want a lot of alterations before the Hotel is allowed to be used again.

  When the Fire service viewed the premises after it was closed they said they would not enter the premises to fight a fire and would only tackle it from outside.
