    At the last election, like a good little boy, I took my Voting Card with me. As I held the card out to aid in the finding of my name on the list I was asked to state my name, even though it was printed in bold type upon the card. I thought then that this may be the thin end of some wedge.
    On the other hand the calls for the advancement of voter participation in local referenda etc. will also require some sort of tie-in between voting 'right' and ID.
