    I am all for foreign investment in Dover but I have (and always had) misgivings about strategic foreign controlling interests in our national infrastructure. In fact when the DTIZ project looked like going tits-up when ASDA started going wobbly I was constantly going on at the council to start talking to the French hypermarket chains. Now that's something that would actually bring people to Dover. But it's not the same as selling them the gateway to the nation.
