I've put offers in on 3 houses this week for 3 different properties. All have been rejected.
Each offer was about £5000 short of the asking price. Each time the 3 different Estate Agents have said the seller wants the whole asking price or no deal.
Is it a buyer's or seller's market?

Its not the agent that rejects the offer its the vendor

Wish the person who put in an offer for my property today only wanted a £5000 reduction. Would have snatched his/her/their hands off.

I think everyone who owns a house and wants to sell it, thinks it is worth much more than it really is - good luck with your's Carole.

I wonder if some of that could be owing to some estate agents suggesting a selling price that looks really good to vendors to encourage those vendors to go with that particular agency. I wonder, but only on the basis of a personal situation.

My previous house sold for £20,000 more than one estate agent valued it for, I was very grateful that I chose not to go with that particular agent in the first place. Luckily I was aware what the value should be and often wondered if he had a 'friend' in mind as a buyer.
