As my husband and I are not very mobile anymore I have been thinking about doing my food shopping online. However I would really be grateful for any advice any of you could give me re good and bad, experiences, is it a good thing, reliability etc.
Thanks in advance.

Its OK but watch out for the cost of the delivery, that is why we stoped doing it the cost go up and down but in the main up,but there are ones that do it for nothing over £25.

£25 IS the usual figure
ICELAND and TESCO do it
mostly it's not a great problem, I have found though when they don't have your option in stock, they give you an alternative which sometimes isn't anything like what you wanted.
Mostly it's not so bad

Used it once when I got a £50 voucher for Waitrose if I spent £80 on line shopping, quite lengthy doing the order but given a delivery time and they kept to it, a good service. I believe Morrisons are going to use the same delivery people Ocado.

I have yet to encounter any problems with on line shopping.
If you are thinking of Christmas presents do that as soon as possible in case there is a problem with stock running out and pay with a credit card as that gives extra security if anything goes wrong.

Jacqui, my wife and I have been useing Tescos home delivery for sometime now, we have not had any problems at all, we have had replacement items but have been happy with them. Some items can be short dated, but the van drivers are all very helpful, bringing the order right into our kitchen. It can take a while to get used to the website and a big shop can take some time, but it sure beats pushing a trolley around!

Just looked at the token given at Sainsburys yesterday, £15 pound off a £60 spend for first time home delivery, will probably take advantage of that.

I believe you can get mobility allowances to cover taxi for shopping
It's good for the elderly to get out if you can
If you open an asda account shopping on line is ok , you will be charged, but if you consider the travailing costs you would have to pay your self, its not that expensive
Stock up big on the non perishables basic's and you can cut down on the frequency of shopping.
Age concern can give advice on these issues and more

Hi Jacqui
I have used Tesco before too and was pleased with it.
Recommend it even though, I find Tesco very expensive. I end up buying certain stuff in different places.
One Hint, if you buy certain products all the time, there is a list you can create on their website. Save you time in the end.
Dont get shocked, if you spend 3 hrs on your first order, its only the beginning. You get used to it and will be faster once you are used to the site.
Hope you get on ok. Good Luck

i went into tesco's as i was in whitfield a couple of weeks back, walked out without buying anything.
the prices are well over what morrison's charge plus it is not my kind of shop, you need to take a flask and sandwiches the time it takes to walk around and find what you want.

I find it strange when I see people get on the bus at Tesco Whitfield with all their shopping trolleys and get off on Maison Dieu Road. Why don't they use Morrisons ? Tesco must be doing something right.

I am sure some of it is habit or the misconception that Tesco are a lot cheaper and some just want their so called free points.
My son in law pops up to Tesco once a week for his beer as Morrisons do not do the one he likes.

There is a box to tick if you don't want alternative goods.
Got mine delivered from Sainsburys for free yesterday
Look for the vouchers online.
