OK, today is a brand new day.
Nature abhors a vacuum, they say. One such vacuum if it is not quite filled by Journo-blogging-commentators it is topped-up by the sundry views of we, the great unwashed.
The estimation that less than 1% of readers turn their hand to appending a comment of their own to the 'learned' out-pourings of the professional is no more than an idle boast.
"The assumption of many regular commenters is that they could do better than anyone who plies their trade as a writer; they see through the "agendas" of those they find so abjectly infuriating"
Patently, the same can be said of those plying-their-trade by writing the article/blog.
If bloggers wish that commentators "play the ball rather than the man", they should be more of a 'man' and pour-out less balls!
