  Let's try to solve this mystery, for the past few months that garden two doors from me is either full of tyres or none at all. I have never seen any collected or delivered so presume it is all done quietly in the dead of night. The house is home to many people including the owner of the Czech registered van that has featured on this forum many times and goes missing for days at a time.
  
  Now to my theory as Andy has pointed out the tyres have seen better days and are probably illegal here but other Member States of the EU may be less strict in practice even though the law may be the same.
