I found the article byJohn Humphrey’s very interesting.Made me think how everyone has their own values and sometimes it’s easier to move on .Things that happen within our on community sometimes the battle is worth fighting for other times walk away .
People react to comments in different ways you don’t always know how the other person is feeling.Perhaps they have health problems ,money worries. The list is endless..
Back to my thoughts on the article.
Religion and politics the can bring out the worst in people. So you have to avoid those subjects sometimes.

I suppose that's as close as an apology as anyone's going to get from an ex politician so thank you Sue for apologising.

That is so true, I sometimes reply when I should completely ignore what has been said if I am annoyed about something going on elsewhere in my life.

Westminster is more cult than religion; but CofE is more political than religious.

In could tell many stories about "behind the scenes" in the Catholic and C&E world, having worked for both (no I wasn't clergy

) but I'd probably be struck down by lightning.....

I'm totally with Scruton
“I was welcomed home at last by my tribal religion – the religion of the English, who don’t believe".
CofE. ✔️
King James Bible, proper hymns and ideally not having to do this bloody 'peace' where you shake hands with the sort of person normally you'd go miles to avoid.
