    without getting into the blame game this is a traditional dover sport.

    you mention the grand shaft, we also have the fountain boarded up and the odd dispirited tulip in the troughs in market square.

    we then hear that they have to lie fallow, other towns don;t think so, neither do the harbour board who have a wonderful display on.

    we are now into a succession of long weekends and bank holidays with people visiting our town, none of this will leave a pleasant memory to take home.
