Any of you peeps know someone who can pick up a three piece suite and dispose of another (legally)?

Keith Gavin is quite reasonable, he's in the phone book.

This guy, Don, can take it away - not sure if he will pick up but it's worth the ask. He is great - we have used his services quite a few times. I recommend!

What condition is the 'other' in? If ok for resale call British Heart Foundation they will pick it up for free, at least half your problem solved!

Or St Martins Emmaus - if it's in good nick they will tart it up and sell it. They have a fabulous quirky shop stuffed with lovely things too - I love it, and they do a bloody good job, too, with charm.

Age Concern collect and sell them as well when we have the room, which we don't at the moment, any shop will need to have the appropriate labels unless it counts as a genuine antique.
You can also try WhiteCliffsFreegle if all else fails the person who receives it will have to arrange collection.

I contacted St Martin Emmaus recently, they made an appointment to come and pick up but never came, when I phoned to ask why they said they were too busy. Bern, I like their quirky shop too, always worth a good rummage. I then contacted the BHF and they came the following day.
Hope you have some luck Ian

I love rummaging!! Sorry to hear Emmaus let you down Colette - a bit of customer care never went amiss.

Can you just walk into Emmaus? I knew they fixed things up but did not realise they had a shop on site?

Yes you can Helen, you must go and have a rummage

I can't tell you how interesting it is! It is possible to find some wonderful little surprises, and last time I went there was also a baby grand on sale in the back! If you are going, set aside a little bit of time to get the benefit!!!

Had a similar "no show" with the Emmaus a few years ago. They are certainly well worth a visit if you're looking for furniture, etc.
