Everyone needs to be on their toes to survive and thrive; too much complacency will have the carpet whisked away from under you and before you know it, another business has taken your trade.
There was a piece on the TV the other day about service and how important it is - more so than the quality of the product.
Michel Rioux was saying that if service is good people will come back to a restaurant even if the food is not wonderful, but if the food is great but the service is rubbish, they won't go back.
I don't think many businesses, whatever they sell, appreciate the benefits of good training, good staff and good service.
