  as you know reg was a life long labour supporter until they shafted him and he left to be an indy.
  
  barryw will tell you(if ever he lost support for tories)
  
  if you have it in your blood support for a party you normally take the best bits and hope for at least some of your beliefs to be realised.
  
  
  reg would never go back to labour(even though asked) as i wouldnt
  
  but you still hold the old values in the hope that at some point labour will go back to its roots and gain the support of the electorate.
  
  
  of course twinned with this is the present govt which is so out of touch with the electorate,
  
  the only winner at the next general election will be apathy
