The head of the IMF was arrested in the early hours of this morning at JfK Airport. He has been charged with a number of offences. It's alleged that he sexually assaulted a chambermaid at his hotel. He then allegedly fled to the airport leaving his mobile phone behind.
I'm sure that further details will emerge throughout the day.

As far as his French political masters were concerned, that affair in 2008 was 'consensual'. So that's all right then.
I look forward to the first accusation of entrapment over the current set of charges.

He was heading for a meeting with Angela Merkel, probably to arrange some bail-out of another eurozone country.
It seems that Mrs. Merkel has to make the decision on her own now
