Very nice. Maybe the drunks will sail away in it. I don't go down that way much because of them and their anti-social behaviour.

I saw these this morning. They look good and hopefully will be respected and enjoyed. Who is responsible? They should be commended.

That looks really good and is a very clever bit of topiary.

good to hear about joint working on this, shows what can be done.
market square will be a welcoming location for our visitors with the fountain going well, the topiaries and the castle as a backdrop.

Took my stroll down through the Market Square and must say, was impressed with topiary and planted up trough and beds. No drunks, dropouts or undesirables visible just visitors taking photos of all on display with the castle as a backdrop. First time in ages I didn't find myself hoping no-one would ask me where the town centre was!! Fingers crossed it lasts the summer through!! Well done on a joint effort.

I haven't been down that far for ages but I will have a look next time I am in town hopefully they are respected and not vandalised like the fountain is prone to.

Well done to the group doing the work and the person behind it I love lavender,I hope they are planting the all year round one or it will die in the bad weather, and the right soil not always easy to grow as I have found out over the years, but if it does takes off and is left alone then it will come back each year, but it will need watering in the summer weeks again if it does not get watered over the next few weeks it will die.But they will know that.

i am certain it is the all year round stuff and fits in with what many of us were saying here of planting perennials in the age of little dosh, as for watering rest assured sylvie will be running around with her watering can like she did last year.

I noticed that there was an irrigation pipe in the bed so hopefully it will get a regular dousing. I haven't seen the lavender bedded in but have heard it looks amazing.

Both the above post are well put.A unground irrigation pipe with a timer on it would be the best way forward..

even more important that all the usual moaners are not coming out with the usual mantra alec.
"what a waste of our "poll tax".
"it will only get vandalised"
etc etc.
