  Be careful this morning it is very icey out where the rain last evening has frozen. My journey to Canterbury this morning was a nice slippery -5

  Ahhh you are a hardy soul indeed Jeane to be off to the seaside for fun and frolics in this weather...thermal long johns to the fore!!
  Thanks for the tip there David. had to go out in it this morning myself. Was very icey indeed underfoot. Was nearly doing the splits several times but got back home virgo intacto...ermm if you see what I mean.

  just got back from town and ice patches remain everywhere, not so bad now but when the dark gets turned on shortly conditions underfoot will be treacherous. i would strongly advise people to venture only if they have to.
  
  black ice on the main roads could be a major problem later too.

  It wasn't as cold as I thought it would be as there was no wind. Here's a few photos - gargoyle in my garden pond, seafront at Southend (you can't see where the sky ends and the sea begins) and a very frosty Hadleigh Castle.
