"Lesley Barker and her husband Paul sold their house in West Hougham just two weeks after the UK voted to leave the European Union in June 2016."
I bet everyone who has ever had to sell their house would love to know how they managed to exchange contracts in "just two weeks" when it usually takes about that time for estate agents to get their advertising blurb together.

Possibly Gary 39 as a lot of ex pats will have to weigh up their options, especially the older ones who have health problems and other needs.

Good riddance. We will need people with a bit of backbone, prepared to put in a shift and working together whatever ones political views are in order to fix our country in the coming years. It's no surprise they chose to live in France.

Just someone desperate to get their name in the paper, article 50 wasn't triggered until a long while after and it was generally assumed that the imbalance of trade would guarantee free movement of goods.

Hi,
I agree with all the comments above.. she should of come over to Aycliffe and see what we have to put up during TAP.. I would seriously laugh if they were forced to come back :)
As for other ex-pats I do hope they can still enjoy there life there.

paul m, Britain has lost it's backbone when they started bringing in the windrush people. at least her and her old man had the balls to move to france, weather for the right reason or not.

You say that but my gut feeling is as soon as something goes a bit wrong, they'll be back like a shot.
