  Yes that is what I done we were heading for the QE.QMhos/Margate but the roads are so bad I never got there just coming off the Sandwich bypass so much water lieing in the Rd and still coming down hard. Think I done the right thing coming back would have been a nightmare when the lorrys and big cars were going by me and also going the other way the rain water was going right over the top of my car.So said sorry to my wife and turned back .So take it easy out on the open roads deep water is lieing on them.

  I still think I was right inturning back last night we do not like missing hospital appointments because someone could have taken our place,but after starting out and going as far as we did the roads were very bad,and I am not a brave person anymore at my age ,but also other cars and lorrys were going by us at 70,80, miles per hour,I was doing 60,and the water off the roads when they went by was covering the car. This is a worry to the the public when you have to go so far away for the appointment in the first place,we are lucky at this time having a car but geting to the QE.QM by bus or train is a nightmare this time of the year,great hospital but at times it is the geting there and back home again.

  It was bad yesterday Vic.I came from London to Dover and i,ve never seen conditions as bad on the motorway.At one point i could hardly see where i was going even with wipers at full speed and all of the traffic had slowed down.

  Thank you Mr Andy for saying that,I do feel bad about not geting there that has made me feel better,When I was working like yourself I had to go all over the UK working in and out of bad weather sometimes doing well over 200miles aday just to get there and back home,but as I have pushed up the ladder of age .I have lost that fun feeling in doing it,I am geting a wemp now. I have just phoned for new appointmeny must say they were very good about it and understanding,as I have said before we are very lucky to have a very careing N.H.S. and we have the very best of it in the East Kent HOSPITAL Trust.Things do go wrong at times but thats like all jobs at times it does not turnout the way we want to but overall they do their very best to be a help.

  If you did not feel happy driving in such bad conditions you did the correct thing in turning back, better safe than sorry.
  
  The really sad thing is that you had to travel all that way to Margate for your hospital appointment rather than getting an appointment locally.

  When the new health faclity is completed there will be less need to travel these distances.
