The post you are reporting:
Gary-promise that you will never stop telling everyone just how it was in the 80's. The truth needs to be told about government sponsored illegal police tactics and behaviour(hammering their riot shields like Zulu warriors etc), inflammatory journalists ( I know one who used to hand out cash to promote violence)-all part of the ghastly government plan.
There is no doubt that there was unacceptable behaviour to some degree from the union side-but what do you expect with conditions and jobs at stake. Thatcher as a part of her anti union agenda had been instructing the coal board to stock pile coal long before she decided to incite the miner's strike.
There were no thugs-just angry people trying to preserve employment and their way of life.
