Actually it was more of a nightmare and I awoke in a cold sweat!

I was at a DDC Cabinet meeting and the Leader announced that:-

    1) Officers were dusting off the model of the cable car! English Heritage were 'excited' about the proposal. The castle has a third of a million visitors a year and EH have limited parking space. Filling the acres of spare parking space in Dover with visitors' cars will give them the opportunity to enjoy Dover's retail 'offer' (Wetherspoons and the third empty St James where they are now giving away yearly leases) boosting footfall and re-vitalising our recently re-vitalised town centre. The cable car will of course cost us 'nothing' as sponsorship is being actively sought (see failed cable car at Greenwich) and apparently CityCorps Developments (aka the Provisional Branch of the DDC) 'Owe us big time'.

    2) Rough Sleepers. It is only a matter of time before one or more of the dozens of Dover rough sleepers gets run over crossing from their abodes on the sea front to the 'soup kitchen' in town. For years DDC have been planning with their partner DHB to build a Bifrost across the A20 as DHB promised to do years ago when insisting the A20 extension, as well as ruining an AONB, split the town from the seafront. Unfortunately the planning had all been rather one way and DDC realises that DHB was 'leading them on'. (See Waterfront Development). Initially DDC had approached local CCF units with the idea of them building some sort of 'bailey bridge' but apparently they no longer do 'that sort of thing' and are all busy working on their gender equality badges. The Leader then revealed a Lego model of his proposed solution. Apparently the 2X2 bricks are the same dimensions as apple boxes and the 2X6 banana boxes, and all being to EU standard they will interlock. Bartlet and White have loads of the former and DHB are willing to sell a couple of thousand of the latter which they have left over from when they lost the Geest contract. Construction starting 'soon'. Asgard here we come!

    3) Finally our traffic supremo (resplendent if his free blazer, courtesy of OpenGolf2020) announced that the Dover Rapid Bus Transport Link was on hold as, 1) HMG was asking WTF the Housing Budget was being used for to build a £15 million single lane road to the middle of a field 2)Elon Musk though he could put in a HyperLoop at half the cost.

The meeting broke up with much self congratulation and the DDC development officer rushed off to see where he could source an Airfix model of a HyperLoop to grace his office (Ideally 1:60 scale to go with the CableCar)
