The point that Vic is making, and which i am in agreement with him on, is that young soldiers who have been trained and who have battle experience having served their country well are getting redundancy letters as a 'thank-you' whilst the government continues to recruit new young men and women for the armed forces. This is what's wrong.
Only this evening I have seen 3 adverts recruiting for the army. It is not right to be making men and women redundant in the midst of their army careers whilst running a national recruitment campaign via print, radio and TV. Nothing new, governments and politicians of all shades have done it throughout the centuries, but that doesn't make it right.
