I only went on strike and went out picketing and campaigning, when I knew in my heart and in my head that it was "fight or lose our coalmines" and for me it was the last resort but i also knew it had to be done.
Please don't spout whose fault it was, that's all been done before and nothing to do with this thread.
Having extremists standing behind you on the picket lines, shouting abuse and throwing missiles at the police was very frightening, on many occasions we were sandwiched between angry protesters,(Not Miners) and angry police(Some Military).
Many of you only saw the choice bits that the media were allowed to put in front of you. We lived it and we know how easy it is to completely get out of hand and become violent, within seconds.
Personally, I don't want to ever see or experience that again but it will happen again, sooner rather than later and I think it will be ten times worse.
