    New guidelines for social housing will mean pushing the rents up to 80% of local average prices. In London this could mean weekly rents on a two bedroom flat going from £95 to £250. If the aim is to make massive cuts in public spending how is this increase going to a) encourage people back to work, and b) reduce the spending on housing benefit?
