From the very start of the so called consultation period all of PCT's questions and steered to answers have been directed towards cutting the services in Dover down to a polyclinic in the town centre. As I have said before, the very fact that they asked about care in hospitals by offering the options of Ashford, Margate or at home (no mention of Dover) indicated that they never intended to make such care available here. It is equally obvious to everyone else that to get the sort of hospital Dover deserves it needs to be sited close to the town, on a site that offers a range of easy transport options and has room to grow. Whitfield and Burgoyne fit the bill, Maison Dieu Road does not.
