  It isn't safe under anyone, and quite right too as it is at present. The principle is admirable but the practice is abysmal - and it is self defeating for nurses to claim an overwhelming vote of no confidence in a health minister when there is so much evidence of no confidence in many nurses. Nurses need to be trained and free-ed up to nurse, not to manage budgets and services. They are different skills. When they start to think that because they have a degree they can save the world they lose their focus.
