    Howard - you attacked businessmen generally for getting awards. OK over to specifics, these particular ones got gongs for services to the arts or charity as I understand it.

    If an overpaid footballer can get an award just for being able to kick a ball around for 'services to sport' then a businessman should be entitled to an award for 'services to business'. There are many way such a 'service to business' can be justified from the example I already have given to establishing a premier brand for an existing business, to rescuing an existing business from failure, to turning a 'so so' existing business into a major brand, for helping and supporting other businesses, for innovation etc etc etc....
