  received a letter through the post this morning from my insurer asking why i had not renewed and that my cover ran out today.
  
  i made a panic stricken phone call, stated that i had not had a renewal notice.
  
  the calming voice assured me that it was no problem and that i could renew over the phone, i agreed and asked how much it was.
  
  twice what it was last year!!
  
  i ended the call, made a few checks on the internet and found many that were less than half sometimes a third less than my present insurers.
  
  seems to me that my insurer of the last 15 years thought that it was time to try it on, even though they never get a claim from me.
  
  this was a major high street bank, be warned.
