  I think it is worse when Councillors with this much experience deliberately do things like this. It is blatant flouting of rules that the majority follows. If he had been a Gypsy Traveller applying for retrospective planning permission he would be on the front pages of the daily mail named, shamed and demonised.

  not sure why he thought he would get away with it, his neighbours had all been refused planning permission, so quite likely that one of them would report it.

  The thing is Martin he has got away with it. His mates at DDC will shuffle uncomfortably for a bit and life goes on.

  It should come down or those previously refused get their applications approved.

  aren't we being a bit over the top on this one?
  
  firstly he hasn't got away with anything, the likelihood is that he will be told to pull the extension/verandah down.
  
  secondly i don't know of any ddc councillor of any colour or none that have "pulled a stroke" in the 12 years i have been here.

  well admittingly I am sure there are some nice guys who are honest, they now get thrown together because of this and this alone is a shame
  
  Besides, everyone involved should get dismissed immediately as this would of happen to any other worker, employee etc.
  I do hope it does get investigated properly and in his own interest why oh why misusing a position??
  Its such a shame to all his fellow collegues and workers as they have to deal with this mess he created.
