    Well that probably takes a bit of digestion. But I think we can see where the recession is biting. Although there is still a healthy level of trading going on, which surprised me, nevertheless though the level of imports in particular has seen a marked slump. This is probably due to the lack of home interest in larger items such as cars and so on.

    Although speaking of cars..this europe wide scrappage scheme is proving successful with 35,000 cars in the UK taking part in the deal. Thats 35,000 new cars that may not have been sold otherwise. Some experts say there is a sign of a green shoot or two...which is sooner than expected.

    Good grief! has Gordon Brown got it right!!?
