It's 63. Years since the Coronation.I remember it well as my Dad bought a TV so we could watch the service .The Queen came to the throne February 6th 1952 I was at school and the Head master called a special assembly to announce the news and we all said God Save the Queen.

Indeed, allow me to express my appreciation and admiration for Her Majesty; a credit to our country, others can only look in awe at our truly magnificant Head of State.
I've posted the following thoughts and memories elsewhere, maybe they will prompt others memories of June 1953.
So much has changed over all these years, sadly rarely for the better. One thing that has not changed is her devotion and service to our country and her subjects. I was just 7 at the time of the Coronation and am told that our family gathered around the radio at 16 Chaucer Crescent and listened to the broadcast; I cannot remember that, but I can remember the wonderful, happy party we had outside on the lovely green fields of Powell CP School - such memories, such larks!

Ive met HM on several occasions so gracious & lovely i wasnt born when the coronation took place but i watched the colour film of the proceedings and a tiny beautiful regal 25yr old taking on a ritual of Kings & Queens down the centuries made me proud to be British ,dont think the likes will be seen again even if Charles takes the throne

Just because people do no respond to a post does not mean they do not agree. I have huge respect for the Queen and Princes Harry and William, Prince Charles is simply ok.
