Just watched a programme on the tragic events of the football match all those years ago
What was most interesting was the upbeat way the families of the 96 families kept up the fight against far bigger organisations such as the press, coroner at the time, and of course the South Yorkshire Police who were found to have lied, changed statements to try to blame the football fans.
The families have continued since the 80's to try to get justice more recently the got the result they wanted where it was found the chief constable had he not resigned would have had a case to answer.
There was some sad cases told during the programme, but most important was the theme running through the programme that the police whom we look to a a voice of authority, had actually tried to cover up what had gone on.
This is a sad day and this will have done the police no good at all.
