Whilst exploring around the Rendezvous Street area of Folkestone town, I stumbled across a traditional pub today which I hadn't visited before, what a find! Just behind the Bayle steps I found 'The British Lion', great food with ample proportions of locally sourced food
I had a large bowl of home-made beef & tomato soup with bread, spicy zesty chicken wings and cheesy chips, lubricated with a pint of Old Speckled Hen

I believe the pub is the oldest in the Folkestone area which dates back to 1460, ales on offer were Abbott ale with guest beers Old Speckled Hen and Timothy Taylor's Landlord.
Has anyone else come across this inn or some other 'Hidden Treasures' which need our hospitality
