Hidden gem
- 23 July 2012 12:46184195stumbled on this earlier today, a stretch of the royal military canal devoid of people even on a lovely summers day.
just after the service station going toward the "fountain" pub in seabrook.
even the wild fowl looked relaxed knowing that brian is unaware of their location .

Howard, this is one of my very favourite places, used to go there with daughters Briony and Saskia almost every day after school especially in the summer months, when they were at St Augustines Primary School in Hythe. Just love that stretch along the canal, great for picnics and feeding the ducks

We have often walked sections of it over the years. A good one is from Seabrook to West Hythe. It's possible to do Seabrook to Rye in one day if you are energetic. At least there aren't any hills!I'm an optimist.
