It's not as if the food he serves is in anyway appetising or really healthy. Perhaps he's a limelight junkie. Who knows but isn't he better of starting a real campaign by banning the use of plastic prison plates in schools? They really are so common.

He looks so unkempt. The way he handles food does not look healthy.

i cannot watch him but he makes a good point about childhood obesity and the academy schools allowed to dole out what grub they choose to whilst other schools have to abide by nutritional guidelines.

The trouble is that these so called nutritional requirements are as close to real world food as we are from the planet Pluto. Well ok perhaps not Pluto as it's been downgraded from a planet to a rock but you get my drift.
I once saw on the telly when this subject was being covered in a news story footage of these poor primary school children being fed this awful stuff consisting of a mix of foods which would have me heaving and blowing chunks with gay abandon. Sweetcorn with lasagne and some other healthy fodder. Honestly I couldn't eat my supper which went straight into the bin.
What's worse is the poor kiddies were reduced to eating this nonsense from a plastic prison tray. The way they held their knives and forks was frankly alarming.
Bring back sausage pie, spam fritters and proper chips. OK they weren't perfect and there was always room to improve and to those who consider this poor food please explain why there was always a queue for seconds and trading between the boys exchanging cash for an extra serving.

Many problems could be sorted by an extra 50p or so on the weekly Council Tax bills. 45p to fix the deficit, 3p to the catering contractor and 3p towards increasing public respect for Local Government...a new car for the elected Mayor?
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

I am no fan of Jamie Oliver.
The sad thing is that he probably understands as much about state schools as Mr Gove and is equally qualified to talk about the subject. ie: they went to school.
Perhaps we could let them go away for a while to discuss this...let's say 40 years, somewhere other than the UK. Jamie's a fan of Italy, so maybe there?

Ha ha ha, there are so many people who don't like him and I must admit I wasn't keen until I actually got to meet hin at his home some years back when he lived in Hampstead, and found him to be a nice guy. His family are lovely too.
