It was behind my garden the other day trying to neck a 1lb dead trout, it left it behind.
grass grows by the inches but dies by the feet.

Saw a heron this evening about 5.45pm at the end of Charlton Avenue right next to Barton Path. Is there only one?

there have been reports of 2 herons in the area that you speak of karlos, you must have good eyesight to have spotted that one so late.

It was right by the path, so I couldn't miss it

must have been 3 or 4 years ago that one arrived just before christmas and stayed for several weeks, walking around the bandstand and looking vulnerable to attack.
eventually it decamped to pastures/water new.
