I love these Danish television dramas, they seem to have an abundance of very strong female characters which makes a nice change to our similar British style dramas.

interesting point about strong female characters, something that british and american lady actors have been complaining about for some time.

most of our t.v.dramas are formulaic and badly acted, about time other countries came in and set us a lead.
back in the fifties we thought we were the only country that could play football, hungary came to wembley and thrashed us 6 -3.
our response was that they were just a bunch of fancy pants that we would put in their place later in the year in budapest.
we lost 7 - 1. - 9 January 2012 17:03146390Well Borgen certainly didn't disappoint, absolutely brilliant, I loved it. The two hours flew by, couldn't believe how fast it went which is always a sign of a good drama. The main character Sidse Babett Knudsen playing the head of the Moderate party Birgitte Nylorg was for me the star of the show. She was a woman of about 40yrs old, married with two children, struggling with an extra few lbs in weight to which all real women can empathise with.
Looking forward to the next episode of this great Danish political drama I'm hooked!
- 9 January 2012 20:53146471Avidly watch The Killing and was a fan of Wallander, so watch in anticipation Borgen and was not disappointed a strong story line and a very good female lead, I'm sure there will be more twists and turns before the end.
