Haymaking at Whitfield- the final time?

  I captured this timeless, tranquil scene yesterday...the soothing ritual of haymaking on a field that I understand is next in the firing line for development.

  I must admit to enjoying looking at scenes on farmland locally especially animals grazing.
  
  They are indeed timeless but sadly we are governed by people that know the price of everything and the value of nothing.
  
  The population is forever rising with no slowdown in sight so I see no grounds for optimism.

  Indeed, Howard. There are many Whitfields all around the country.
  
  A question that no-one has answered is where Dover's growth will take place in the next century if we use all the land now...another sheath of housing around Whiftield, presumably.

  Goalposts are constantly changing.... all due to a rising population no doubt.
  
  What was protected land yesterday is now considered "essential to provide housing" today.
  And what will happen tomorrow?

  Indeed, Kath. We need to get away from the babyish way we conduct the immigration debate in this country, finger-jabbing at "wacists" who dare to point out the elephant in the room.
  
  It seems to me it's a all a big game where those who bury their heads in the sand most successfully win. And that's what they are doing - burying their heads in the sand.
  
  Play the video. Think forward 100, 200 years - in fact think forward five years. I heard today in the news that house prices are rising so fast partly because we are not building enough...the mind boggles.
