  No , she would have been diagnosed with osteoporosis after the first double fracture stopping future fractures and a long slow dibilitating illness . Not all the good old days where good in reality

  I did hear Jimmy Carr, who is something of an expert on such things, say that the idea of banana skin slipping was a euphemism that originated in the yearly years of cinema as a replacement for the real-life dangers of horse deposits.

  The Gladishes owned the general grocer shop at the top of Tower Hamlets Street back in the 60's and on the opposite corner was a greengrocer, possibly the source of the offending banana.
