    I thought that a Trust had just been set up to renovate the pier and were seeking £3½million Lottery Funding. Something on the news a couple of days ago.

    At one time Hastings Council had said the owners (overseas) were not co-operating with the aspirations to re-open the pier.

    So co-incidental the fire only a few days after announcing the hope to seek funding.
