  Amazed this one has resurfaced but now that it has I must do a 'report' on how I see the situation now..
  
  When I wrote the original thread, gosh a whole year ago, I really wasnt sure if these kinds of Forums had a future..dwarfed as were by the massive Facebook and so on. We were like a small old house in Manhattan dwarfed by glass panelled monolithic skyscrapers and the only route to go was to sell up, sell out, and move on.
  
  However since then we have had a hugely successful year, probably the most successful ever. These things cost money to keep going, so if it slumbers and begins to die I would pull the plug. Not for me that familiar route of keeping a near-dead forum open. So as we have NOT had to do that, thanks is due to all the very active members who have contributed marvellously. The more active a member is the better, sleeping members are of little use.
  
  Recently we have had some hiccups with regard to losing a member or two. Always sad and not what we want. But experience tells us that a forum that descends into argument and aggression will die anyway. Postings with an element of consideration for the other guy always lead to better debates and better discussions and here's the vital bit, having a membership that's happy to log on in comfort and enjoy it all. Its all about enjoyment at the end of the day. Without that we're lost.
  
  So if every member wants this to continue to be successful in the same way then keep working at making it so. It is... for the members and by the members.
