It seems that the topic got out of hand: I was referring to verbal harasment and acts of disrespect that are not easily identifiable as criminal, and thus was my proposal that teaching children, and teaching them again, and giving particular attention to children responsible for bullying, is the best solution, and that many sectors of society could participate in this in their various competences.
Of-course, if the topic is about violence and serious violence, it's a different matter, and the police MUST intervene. But may-be one could ask if such violence doesn'y come from previous unchecked misbehaviours, that went on and on and got worse!
I did mention in a downtrodden thread of mine recently that the Strathclyde Police are going to increase their members on active duty among the public by five times, and that notwithstanding the disgusting spending cuts that Gov. announced! Among their objectives is to treat bullying of woman by their husbands/partners with no tea and buscuit approach, but with a strong hand!
The thread didn't get much acclamation, but may-be with after-thought one can see now that it was the fruit of an attentive eye, also in regards to a no-tollerance approach to violent bullying!
So, Jan, may-be I could turn the tables around now and say: no-one cared! Of-course I won't!
