Happy birthday Tien
- 31 May 2010 11:5754240My beautiful son turns 3 tommorow ( tuesday) and here i would like to share with you why his birthday is so special to me. I got dianosed of obstetric cholestitus ( think thats how its spelt) at 37 weeks of pregnancy came as a big shock this condition is rare and the only main syptoms are itchy palms of hands and soles of the feet and it is where the liver passes to much bile salts through the womb to the baby and can be fatal to mother and unborn child. i was induced within twelve hours after the results and thought the nitemare would be over, little did i know that my son would be on life support for a week in the scbu at Ashford hospital after the birth due to breathing problems, weighing in at 8lbs 2ozs he was the biggest in his incubator and it really brings it home to you being surrounded by so many poorly babies and the sadness of the other parents in the same place as i was that the doctors and neonatel nurses in Ashford scbu are worth their weight in gold . They saved my son..

I can't see the photo but I am sure PaulB can sort that out for us. Tien is a very unusual name, is there a meaning behind it or just something you liked? I am proud to share my birthday with such a fighter.
