The club would like to inform supporters that during a routine internal accountancy audit at the clubs offices at Crabble Stadium, it has become apparent that a 5 figure sum has been misappropriated from the clubs bank accounts.
Chairman Jim Parmenter said" This is heart breaking for everyone involved at the club, we've all worked so hard to bring this club back from the brink and put it on a stable footing. To have a staff member in a trusted position do this to our club is devastating.
"Whilst these events will not put the club in any form of financial difficulty, it is a significant sum of money and will bound to have an impact."
This is now the subject of a police investigation and therefore the club are unable to comment further at this time.
We thank everyone for their continued support.

That is awful, I hope this turns out to be an accountancy fault but it does not seem like it.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Sounds to me that they know who the miscreant is but will not say anything before charges are brought.

How awful for the club and they've been doing so well lately. Woman from Gillingham - not local then. Hope they get their funds back.
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

Very sad when there has been a betrayal of trust I read a few months of a family business in Kent that were taken for even more than a five figure sum by someone they knew and trusted with the financial side of the business. Very nearly put them out of business, the money was spent on luxury items it was not as if she was in debt.

Maybe the club should think about employing Dover people. No Dovorian would dare do this, even if they wanted to. Which they wouidn't.
Where did we GET this woman from? (Apart from Gillingham).
