    Shame that such a positive thing for our area gets denigrated because it is 'green'. Perhaps studying 'green' energy production at this site will turn up a method that generates commercially viable 'green' energy that supplies the grid without a subsidy.

    That would be brilliant.

    In the meantime we have a centre of excellence that provides direct employment for 1000 local people run by a college with a proven track record of turning round an educational and business establishment. The Hadlow guys are great with masses of commitment and patience, this project has been years in the making. The mining heritage centre is a good thing, our young should never forget our recent past. So we get tourism, heritage, education, research, industry and 1000 jobs all together in one project, delivered by a grouping of people who cross party political lines and have worked together for the good of all regardless of party political affiliation or sympathy - that's how it should always be. I don't see a downside.
