Guston Green was a massive project, an acre of farming land, uneven ground, slopes, no access and the banks (proposed access point) were 2m higher than road level. We had no money left within parish funds after land was purchased in 2011, no safe boundary, no safety crossing, the whole site was weeds and thistles. Within 2 years we had an established disabled pedestrian access point made with Saxon paving and oak sleepers, a secure fenced boundary, new turf, crossing points and safety barriers, a 5 as side football pitch, picnic benches, zip wire, and a fantastic summer house built and shipped all the way from Lithuania. We have just crossed £70,000 in funding for this project and have more in the pipeline! We have more play equipment on order providing a tree house climbing multi play unit, slides, swings etc and an adventure trail. This was a real community project!!
My point......anything is possible!
