Tom, I'd hardly describe that as looking up. Those naive enough to take up the offer will be paying shed loads more in their energy bills for years and years. Those measures, designed to combat dangerous climate change and save the polar bears and halt the rise in sea levels and and and stop this cold weather We are having because of global warming, don't come free.
The cost of "greening" those houses will be added to the energy bills. Bear in mind that the contractors will charge double the going rate.
Another green con.

Green this n that,Carbon footprints,blah,blah,blah.Excuses to get more and more money out of us all.Perhaps it would be better if we all throw away our cars,go back to horses n carts,eat lentils,wear sandles and s**t in the bushes.

that last bit struck a chord andy, our local dogs have been doing that for years and some of them can even put the results in plastic bags afterwards.
now that is what i call clever.

A pity that some cant take the plastic bags away with them instead of hanging them on the fences.
