Not all District had the service, that was the point.
We could not afford to extend the service to all.
Therefore those not having availability of the service were subsidising those who had that benefit.
Those in flats obviously did not use it.
It was intended to spread out the service over a period of years as we originally did with the recycling service.
The national cuts changed that option. It became unaffordable.
We were the only District in East Kent that provided the service free.
There is a reduction in contract charge if the service is not operating.
The service being offered pays for itself.
Early in cycle to know what full take up will be, more people opting in daily.
It is also apparent that some residents had not received notification of the change.
This is being taken up with the Royal Mail who were supposed to deliver to all households.
I'm still awaiting my info.
