I remember a story about a man who's task it was to sell soap, not the 'soft' kind this time, who hit upon the idea of giving away Chewing Gum with each purchase. Soon he discovered that people were buying the soap (or was it Baking Powder?) to get the gum. A whole new business was born and young Mr. Wrigley* never looked back.
