The post you are reporting:
I am sorry Jan, but they did next to no damage. I am sure there have been many armies and navies over the years that have tried their level best to do damage and yet the fortifications persist.
While many, rightly, bask in the glow of the positive news stories and comments, none can expect such publicity to act only as they desire it should.
I recall what happened to the landlord of a murder victim, just because he looked vulnerable his life was turned upside down, to say the least. I'll bet all those involved were trying to get a positive result for that murder inquiry by inviting news crews to visit and to talk to the neighbours, yet much harm, useless harm, was done.
Letting-rip on whole sections of youth identified only by their address (something they have NO control over) is social vandalism in itself. As children effect their environment in the only way open to them, often destructively, as seen from 'outside', so grown men and women find support flying to their side when they too pick upon a section of the (our!) community least able to stick-up for itself.
Better to attempt to harness the energies of these same youths to help Phil, Paul etc. have a real effect and a big effect on the rock and concrete and better for the grown-ups to turn their wrath upon that section of the local community charged with arranging the affairs of the local community; the slimy self-satisfied politicos.
Politics, again! [perhaps I should have written that as a warning at the top of the post?]
