will any of our members be backing a nag for this afternoon's race, betting shops bring in extra staff for this annual event.

I've gone right off it.
I wonder when they'll have 'fruit machine' day?...Oh, I forgot, that's every other day and this one.

No, too many horses killed or injured.

Two have already perished this week alone. Cruel sport. Mind you , the advert showing a horse and rider crashing thro' a greenhouse did the sport no justice either.

i wouldn't bet on it, the whole thing is unnatural as no other race is that long let alone with such dangerous fences. last year a cheltenham winner(a true thoroughbred) croaked during the race, which doesn't augur well for the lesser horses.
