Alan Lee, he of the Dover Society, is researching Wally Hammond, a cricketer of note. Apparently he was born in 1903 at Grace Terrace.
Any ideas as to location?
Terry
ps the DWMP website mentions it as being the site for an air raid shelter.

Cricketer of note? I'll take your word for it Terry. The trail seems to end at Buckland, right enough...

My hunch is that it is Heathfield Avenue just along on the other side of the road from the Diamond where there is a raised terrace of houses.
If you google "Grace Terrace" Dover, it suggests that it is in Heathfield Avenue.
See this page suggesting a possible shelter site:-

Is it possible a shelter could have been dug into the flint wall there?

I thought that Karlos. There is a plaque on the wall of a row of houses there but It's Carlisle Terrace. On the opposite side of the road there are other plaques that relate to "Villas".
I'm convinced that I've seen it somewhere, I'll just have to keep my eyes open when dog walking.

Well it looks as though we both had the right opinion Karlos. Here's the latest from Alan:-
Dear Terry
I have tracked down Grace Terrace. It is part of Heathfield Avenue.
In 1901 it was listed as
Heathfield Avenue (off Barton Road)
There were 7 named villas
Montrose Terrace 1 to 12
Caryle Terrace 1 to 24 (The Diamond Hotel)
Heathfield Terrace 1 to 7
Edith House
Florence House
Grace Terrace 1 to 15 then 19
Not sure why numbers 16, 17 and 18 are not mentioned as they are in the 1901 cencus returns
I will go and look at Heathfield to see if I can identify which one it is.
Yours
Alan

I looked at Heathfield Avenue on Google Streetview - no sign of Grace Terrace.
I wonder what was on the site of the flats by Shatterlocks School or the semi's next to the Diamond?

It was apparently part of Heathfield Avenue, but I've looked at old street maps before and after 1900 and it doesn't seem to appear on them. Mystery...

KARLOS: On the site you asked about stood "The Scotish Laudery",which was pulled down many years ago,"St Ann's Court"
a block of flats.
hope this helps.
